So, ive been trying to get rid of this stupid spyware, or whatever it is, thing on my laptop and everything online has told me to download MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware program. Ive tried re-installing it, downloading it from different sites, and even re-downloading the installer! I can install it on my computer successfully but no matter where i get it from the program will not open! I'm getting frustrated because i am finally down to the last virus/spyware on my laptop but i cant follow the advice i have got online because the program wont open. Am I doing something wrong? do i need to open it in safemode or something other than the regular startup? Please help!

Thanks~ Dan (aka. djbrag)

P.S. the spyware i am trying to get rid of is a fake security alert that pops up telling me Windows firewall has blocked features of different programs, some being "Backdoor.Win32.kbot.al", "Rootkit.Win32.Agent.pp", "Trojan.Win32.Agent.dcc", and a few more. The program it prompts me to download when i click "Enable Protection" is CoreGuard Anitvirus 2009, which i have not downloaded

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a OTListIt2 log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a OTListIt2 log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
