hello everyone,

i have to transfer my database (using oracle) from ubuntu to windows. can someone please help me out how to go about it.
someone told be about export import cycle? what exactly does that mean? and what does it do?

also if someone can tell me that what are the theoretical steps involved when one needs to transfer database from one platform to another..

i have always been wondering, whether DBMS (i am using oracle) maintains data in platform dependent file format or platform independent format. n if it were platform dependent then how can i transfer my database to some other platform.

i am already lagging behind time, need help asap.
