I know there is a way to 'set ' XP to auto backup using the installation disk. I am scared s... less to put my recovery disk in, in case it starts to reload everything. Is there a good (free if possible) backup programme that I can use that will allow me to backup to my external hard drive? Or is there a way to 'enable' XP without using the disks

Thanks for your help in the past with my problems

I suggest going to Microsofts Backup Tutorial[/b] and follow the steps to do a Scheduled Backup.

Another way you can do a {b]Backup[/b] is by using DVD’s. This method is just as effective and can be done using the same steps as above.
Please let me know if I can answer any further questions you may have as I am always happy to assist.

Thank you RS for this it has been most helpful. I have managed to 'enable' the back facility and have printed off the instructions on how to set it up.

Thanks again for your help
