I just recently restored my acer travelmate 2420 to factory settings and it still has problems loading. The only things I have on it now are my music and automatic updates from the windows website. What could the problem be, is there something wrong with my processor?

Download and install EVEREST
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.

PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING UNDER THE LINE THAT SAYS "DEBUG- PCI"

Here is the ROOT of your problem: "System Memory 246 MB (DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM)"
You barely have enough Memory to run XP not including anything else. This is the bare minimum just to run XP.
Suggested is 512 and preferred is 1 gig.

"C: (FAT32) 17280 MB (6566 MB free)"

This is going to be a problem eventually also as your HD is small and already over half full.

Go HERE and run the Crucial online scanner.
This will give you the exact memory configuration for your system. You do not have to buy the memory from there, but write down the information and if you need assistance in purchasing the upgrade memory GTG can assist with suggestions also.
Yes it will cost and it will depend on how much you want to upgrade the ram.
