My acer Travelmate 2420 won't boot up anymore. It started when a virus got through my Norton Antivirus 2005 ( I updated the virus definitions) and from there it slowed my computer down and when I tried to switch to McAfee everything came to a halt. I couldn't pull up any applications without them freezing. When I tried to do a system restore, it shut down and restarted, now I can't boot up. I think there may be something wrong with my registry but I don't know how to fix it without completely erasing everything. Is there a way to save my files as the computer is now before I restore to factory settings?
