Hi,
I've recently bought Total Club Manager 2004 for the PC. Everything works fine (e.g. installation and initial start up) and I get to the main screen at the start of the game with options like start new game etc. The problem is that whenever I click on start new game or load game, the game crashes and I end up back at my desktop at a lower resolution and absolutely no explanation as to why it crashed. Other options on that menu, which include video clips advertising other games etc., work. I have tried it on my flatmates computer and it works fine. I have all the right specifications and games requiring the same specifications work perfectly well even ones by the same company, i.e. EA. I've tried virus scanning and reinstalling and they have had no affect. The next bit of the game (when you click on the 'start new game') is not one I would suspectt to cause my computer to crash, it's just another screen to fill in player details.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? My computer works fine and the game works fine, but they don't work together. It's all a bit annoying.

Oh I forgot to mention, when I open task manager, after it crashes, the game is still in the processes section but not in the application section and when I end task the game the resolution of my desktop returns to normal.

Don't know if that will help

My specs
Windows XP
CPU: Athlon XP
CPU Speed: 1256MHz
Drive Space: 3701MB
Memory: 256MB
DirectX Version: 9

Minimum required Specs
Windows 98
Pentium III
600MHz
1000MB drive space
Memory: 128
DirectX version 8.1

The game has it's own system check to make sure that you have the required specs and all of my are fine accord to it.

Very confusing

I managed to fix it, well sort of. I downloaded a crack for the game and it works. I still haven't worked out what's going wrong but I know now that it's definitely something to do with the cd/cd-drive.
