We are new at this. Are there any good tutorials and/or instruction manuals available on line for front page?
Thanks,
Brian

Brian: Can I talk you out of using FrontPage to make web pages? It is a code bloater. Writes excessive amounts or Microsoft Schema which no browser but IE/Maxthon understands. It is Schema which does nothing for your page in other browsers. If you need a Visual Editor or want to learn to hand code HTML/CSS, then take a look at the following:

Free HTML Editors, Web Editors, and WYSIWYG Web Editors and Site Builders:

Mac users might want to download BBedit Lite, a more powerful, and free mac text editor: http://www.barebones...bedit_lite.html

You're welcome. Did you see anything in that list you might be interested in? I hand code all my pages, there are some free Visual Editor that are good. Maybe not all the bells that FP has for some things, but you can copy/paste in Code View on these. Even Dreamweaver requires hand coding at times and it's expensive. :)

Ron,
Like I said we are new at this so I am not sure what I am looking at. I just would like to focus my efforts of learning to something that will be useful and is somewhat commonly used.
In looking at the for dummies books and idiots guide to books they seem to be for dreamweaver.
Also can you give me the names of some of the free programs you are talking about for visual editor?

Thanks,
Brian

Hi, honey!
I'll take care of the WYSIWYG part - that's preference. What I really, really need to know at this point is how to add a .txt file (my sitemap) to FP. It won't let me upload the sitemap directly to the server since I used FP and Lord know we don't want to break the extensions!

Using the free FileZilla FTP program helps to keep the uploading/downloading of multiple files to your site separate from the problem prone FP. Hosting sites really have to make sure their servers have the updates to FP's extensions. Something that is specific to ONE editor which is a good reason to dump it, redo your code properly with another GOOD editor, and overwrite the pages now online.

KompoZer - Easy Web Authoring is a popular Visual Editor and does not generate all that Micro$oft Schema crap that FP does (this includes Word, Publisher and lots of other so-called "web" editors being used that is made by M$).
