I just installed vista and when I opened up the C drive i found two files, with duplicates of all the windows stuff.
'program files' and 'program files (x86)'

it's not doing anything wrong but i was just curious and im a little annoyed at that.. can anyone tell me how to fix this?

thanks,

If you installed the 64 bit version of Vista this is normal.
The Program Files folder holds all of the 64 bit programs
The Program Files (x86) folder holds all of the programs that aren't 64 bit.

The one's that aren't 64 bit have to work a bit differently than the ones that are - and Windows uses the WoW64 sub-system to translate between 64 and 32 bit (more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WoW64 )
