I know this sounds very similar to another post, but i can assure you its not. My computer is in the shop getting fixed and I have my parents computer for the time being. I'm using the HP pavilion monitor from my computer with my parent HP Brio. When i started up the computer I got a black screen with a blue message saying "self diagnosis: check display settings" or something to that effect.

After logging on in safe mode i discovered that if i disable my display adapter (Matrox MGA-G200 AGP) I can run the computer but only with a 16 colour display. Is their anyway to solve this? I know if i enable the display monitor I can choose other colour settings, but its only a matter of seconds until the black screen with blue warning appears.

I'd be really grateful for some tips, cheers :tazz:
