Google Redirect Virus / Packed.Rolex/Trojan Horse [Closed]

Thank You in advance, for helping me. To start listing the problems; my computer has been running a bit slower, media applications online, such as; hulu and youtube are unable to play videos and when I use Google, the links redirect me to non-related sites. I usually have to click on the links 3 times before I am directed to the site intended. I've run AVG 8.5 and every time I do it finds roughly 150 threats. All of the infections are identified as "Packed.Rolex", except for about 10 that read "Trojan horse Downloader.Generic8.ASBG.". AVG manages to heal the Trojans (temporarily), but is unable to heal the Packed.Rolex. I've also used the tools "Hijack This" and "CCleaner". With the Hijack program, I'm not really sure what should be there and what shouldn't. Here it is:

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop


  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you don't know how to disable them then just continue on.

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt log in your next reply.




Please download GooredFix from one of the locations below and save it to your Desktop

  • Double-click GooredFix.exe to run it.
  • Select 1. Find Goored (no fix) by typing 1 and pressing Enter.
  • A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).
Note: Do not run Option #2 yet.
