You know when you go to Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs and that list comes up? How do I know which ones I can get away with uninstalling? I've got the obvious software that I don't use anymore but there are many files that I don't recognize. Most have to do with Microsoft and Adobe and I'm unsure if I am using these things without knowing it (I think that maybe they're "automatic" funtions and if I uninstall them I won't be able to watch videos or something). When I highlight these items it says that I "Rarely" use them but can that be trusted? Would it detect a "behind-the-scenes" software? Thanks in advance and if this isn't clear I have nothing against questions. :)

Download HijackThis:
http://www.trendsecu...ckthis/download
by clicking on Download HijackThis Installer
Install, and run it.

Click Config... button.
Click Misc Tools button.
Click Open Uninstall Manager... button.
Click Save list... button.
Click Save.
The list will be saved as uninstall_list.txt in C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis folder.
At the same time, Notepad will open with the list displayed.

Post the list here, but EXCLUDE those programs, you DO use, and those, you know, you don't use, and you're planning to uninstall.
Post only those, you're not sure about.

Most Adobe entries belong to Adobe Creative Suite: http://www.adobe.com.../creativesuite/, rather expensive program, so I suggest, you keep it.
The only thing, you can really uninstall is Java™ 6 Update 7.
Others are either needed, or may be needed.

Try to run it. Maybe it's some trial version, and it doesn't work anymore.
