Hi its me again,

I got a strange issue going with one of my PC's. I am unable to access/open certain things within the OS (Windows XP Home) such as when I go to start> My computer, right click and select properties, ill see the hour glass briefly flash and nothing happens? :) Normally, system properties would open up. I started fishing around and the same thing happens while trying to open add/remove programs, security center and even when i right click my desk top and select properties.

I just got over a spyware/malware hump about a few days ago and computer seemed to be okay since then but now this is happening. I am suspecting there is a virus but I ran Comodo AV and it tests clean, I ran Spybot and Superanti-spyware which are also testing clean. Perhaps some critical system files were deleted? Or there is still a virus lurking? I dunno but im trying to avoid a reformat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your problem could definitely be malware related. Go to the Malware Forum and read the stickies located at the top, especially this one.
The guides will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. Then you can post a HijackThis log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. Only after a three day wait may you move to The Waiting Room where you will be on the top of the list to be helped. A three day wait is 72 hours.. Make sure it has been over that amount of time, or your Waiting Room topic will be closed.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
