Hi, I've recely bought a laptop which cam installed with Windows Home Basic. I am trying to copy over some files from my desktop pc (itunes library and some photos) via memory stick but anything over about 6mb freezes up windows explorer once i initiate copy, the copy window shows size and estimated time but just hangs and hangs. Other aspects of windows still works when this happens. I have tried copying via a usb stick, via sd card and via cd but still no luck.

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to sort the problem out.

Thanks for that, according to Windows Update all priority updates as well as optional ones are installed.

Teracopy easily copies from xp to memory stick, but freezes when going from memory stick to vista pc, hangs at 2.8%

Did you try different USB stick? Maybe there is something wrong with it.
