Welcome to Geeks to Go.
I suspect that the errors you are getting are related to you not installing the chipset (motherboard) drivers.
If you have a borrowed copy that will work to install.
You must use a XP home or Pro depending on what you already had.
You must also use your key when it asks for a key.
Once you get the OS (operating system) installed, then we can look for the drivers.
To do that and also to be sure the errors are related to not having the drivers, I require more info.
1st, what are the errors you are getting?
2nd, no sound is an indication you do not have the drivers installed.
3rd, Need make and model of the computer. Is it Dell, HP, Gateway, home built?
