I was surfing the web when my McAfee alerted me that I had gotten a virus that could not be quarantined and needed to restart. Once it restarted, everything was gone from the desktop - no icons, no toolbar. All that is there is the desktop background picture. I tried starting in safe mode and there is nothing there then either. I really don't know that much about computers and I don't know where to even begin in getting this fixed as I can't do anything on it at the present moment. I'm using my husband's laptop to access this site. Can anyone help? I really have no idea what kind of virus it could be or I would have posted that info as well.
