What can be done about VNC?

My Internet connection's been way too slow, lately. I ran AdAware and Spybot but couldn't find any reason for that to happen. I contacted my ISP and, after checking all the software in my computer, I've been told that probably there was a remote user accessing my computer using VNC (I installed it in order to test a wireless router I didn't buy, some months ago) and my IP address. So, I tried to uninstall VNC Server 4.0 using the "add and remove software" option at the control panel, but the icon keeps on showing at the startup bar. I even tried to disable all the programs at startup, using msconfig, but it didn't work and the connection keeps as fast as a snail. Can anyone help me, please? :tazz:

And, if so, please try to use language a computer illiterate like me can understand!

Please follow the instructions below if you wish to remove the offending objects from your machine

The first step to clean your machine, it is highly recommended that you clean the following directory contents (but not the directory folder):
* C:\Windows\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ <=This will delete all your cached internet content including cookies. This is recommended and strongly suggested. In Windows 98*admin you can also go to IE, Tools, Internet Options, Temproary Internet Files section, Delete Files and check Off Line Content
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* Empty your "Recycle Bin".

You may want to use CCleaner found here http://www.ccleaner.com

Unregister both DLL's.
In Windows go to START|Run the command:
regsvr32 /u STRAd32.dll
regsvr32 /u ConfuSearch.dll

*Click Here http://www.geekstogo...n=download&id=4 to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure! I would just copy each file path and paste it in the field) MAKE SURE TO ENTER ALL FILE PATHS!:
c:\windows\system32\ConfuSearch.dll
c:\windows\system32\STRAd32.dll

Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button. Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above. After that LAST file path has been entered press the NO button at both prompts so that your computer does not restart.

Do NOT connect to the internet for the following
Close all windows
Open HJT and scan
If you wish to remove these entries then place checkmark(s) beside the entries below, once all entries have been checked press Fixed Check

HJT log file looks OK

How is your machine running

You may wnat to run some different Anti-spyware and A/V programs remember to update the signature/definitions files as new ones come out all the time.
