Kat,

A friend got a free computer which didn't have Virus Protection. He surfed the web and got infected with a Trojan. He asked me to help but I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I'm the only one he has. Anyway, I've tried using the Windows Malicious Software removal tool, which of course didn't work. I should've read the instructions before I used it. Now I'm trying to just wipe the Hard Drive and reload XP, but I keep getting the old blue screen which seems inpenetrable. The trojan is keeping the computer from going onto the internet (I'm using my own computer to send you this). So what do we do and how do we do it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
