After my earlier posts about being hijacked and losing the ability to do anything, I was able to repair Windows XP, and have gotten back almost everything. But I could not get into Netscape 7.1. The icons were there. The shortcuts were there, the programs were there, but I couldn't get into them. After downloading it again 3 times on a :D dial up modem I uninstalled and went back to Netscape 6, then upgraded to 7.0. But the same problems happen when I try to upgrade to 7.1 - it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Here is my Hijack This log, just in case.

Yes, Netscape 6 and 7.0 worked fine, in fact I am on 7.0 now. But some of the features are better in 7.1, and I am used to them, like the spam tools.

I didn't have a problem the last time I upgraded, maybe a year ago? And all the shortcuts and desktop icons appear, but nothing happens when you click on them. And I tried going directly into the program, and again, nothing. I have tried it in different folders.

I just can't figure it out.

Thanks,

I will try this and get back to you - it looks different than what I've tried.
