HotSpot Shield Problem,,,please HELP!

As stated in the discussion title my computer says its connected but none of my browsers will display any web pages. i KNOW my computer is connected because I can access AIM and chat with friends but it's just the browsers that won't display anything. This happened right after I installed hotspot shield, realising this may have been the problem I quickly uninstalled (it wouldn't connect for me anyways) and the browsers still wouldn't display. I've tried 3 system restores, all before the date of the hotspot shield install. I am now stuck on my laptop for the time being before this problem gets fixed. Please help me, i am desparate!

Can someone please me!
