Please bear with me. I'm not getting video in my video editing system. The tech support guys says I need to download the video driver for my computer, as I just recently reinstalled the operating system.

When I go to the dell website, download the driver and try to install it I get an error message saying video driver not found??? Not found I'm trying to install the dame thing. Also I get and INF ERROR saying video driver not found. I'm puzzled. I have an inspiron 6400.

Can someone help me thru this and explain it to me like I'm five years old?:)

downloaded both of them..one says unfortunately the software cannot be installed on this computer.

The otherone just installed but did nothing.

What is your video card's status in the Device Manager?

there is a question mark "?" says driver not installed,...which we know. I didn't remove the card or anything like that, just reinstalled the op system.

Did you install the chipset drivers from your drivers CD (should come with your computer) first?

it wont let me install them. When i click on it it asked me what program to use to open it. Like if you had a Word document but did not have the Word software installed.
