Hello! I'm in Windows Office [bleep]! Using WinXP and Office 2000, I am trying to embed Excel charts in Word, but keep getting the error message that the server application is missing. It is where it is supposed to be, but Office is refusing to recognize the file. If Excel is already launched there does not seem to be a problem. (I also discovered that I can't run Detect and Repair, for similar reasons.) What is the problem and how do I get out of this [bleep]?

Thanks for any help to keep me from going cookoo!

Embedding, though it does not seem to matter.
