Ok, first of all I'm new, and second of all you guys helped me get my laptop up and running again just by reading your forums. (thank you sooo much)I've been trying to find out what video card I have currently but when I look in the device manager display devices are no where to be found. I had to reformat everything and when I reinstalled I think I may have missed my video card driver. I have the discs that came with it but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I thought I installed everything but somethings not right. Please Help! I have a Dell Inspiron 9400. I tried to go to the dell support and download the driver I thought I needed but during the installation it couldnt find the hardware.

Hello KatMarkley...

With Dell machines, using the service tag number will usually help you pinpoint what you're looking for. The Service Tag number is on a tag on the bottom of the machine. On the Dell Support page, rather than search for your machine by model and model number, input the Service Tag and see if it narrows your choice of drivers some.
