Hi, I have just installed Windows XP 64 bit onto my new PC. At first, it worked fine, but after my first reboot, I was no longer able to see the taskbar or Desktop icons. It seems to me that explorer.exe isnt running at all (not displayed in task manager), nevertheless, I have it in my windows folder.
What should I do to fix this?

Howdy and welcome to GTG:

Going to ask the obvious here, but is your new system 64bit compatible?

Also, is the XP cd new or been used before?

Okay.. click on "Start" and then click on the "Run" button..

Type in sfc /scannow and let it go. Have your cd handy.
