I have a linksys router (unsecured) and someone hacked it and changed the name. I can't figure out how to change the name back because I can't get past the user name and password.

Can you help me?

We can't help with bypassing passwords and such as we have no way of knowing if this is a legit request (not doubting you, just in general). A quick google search will tell you how to get it back to the default passwords though.

Reset it by physically holding it, then redo the installation process.

Aggreed reset the router.
In the back of the Linksys router is a little o push a pin into it that will reset it and then install it via computer and make it secure.
