Can you double check device manager and let me know what you have listed under Network Adaptors?

Ok I'm assuming 2 things here:

Your out of range of the wireless router or
SSID broadcasting is turned of on the router

Trying logging into your router by typing 192.168.1.1 (I'm sure that's what Belkin is) into IE or Firefox and check your wireless broadcast settings.

It shouldn't be out of range because the two machines are currently side by side.

But when I type 192.168.2.1 in I get IE cannot display the web page. but it is trying to put http:// before it.

I can't stop it doing that.

I guess because it is not connected ?

There is no option to tick, but two are marked as enabled which I guess is the same and the SSID is marked Belkin54g

All it says on it is ADSL Wirelss modem router

It says VER 5000 on the bottom
