Have DSL connection (Futjusu modem) along with a Linsky router so more than one person can be on the Internet from two computers.

Well no DSL for two days. Contacted Eartlink and no problem at their end.
Did the power down, power up and so on and so on. All modem lights are on.

On the router the link/acct yellow lights are flickering. On the right side of the router, where it says acct and diagn, NO LIGHTS. So apparently it is not getting the signal. Now should I assume that it is the router that is the problem and I may need to buy a new one?

Note: I have had this setup for almost 5 years. And forced to use dial up it awful.

Do you recieve any error message, ie: Limited or no connectivity? When you go into command prompt, and type: ipconfig /all - do you receieve an IP address? Is your DNS server and DHCP listed(you might want to simply post the results)? What happens when you type: ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew? Can you please state the model of your Linksys router. Try the following pings:
ping localhost
ping 127.0.0.1
ping [your computers IP Address]
ping [your routers IP Address]
ping [the IP of the other computer on the router]
ping [the name of the other computer]
Can you share files with the other computer?
Have you tried to simply reset your router?
What steps have you already taken to fix this issue? Can you please list them.
What operating systems are you using (on both computers)?
Go to each computer and (from command prompt) type: ipconfig /all -- do both computers have the same IP schema, ie: 192.168.0.x?
Do you have any firewalls installed?

If you recieve the 'Limited or no connectivity' message, then try some of these fixes:
Download and run the WinsockXP Fix. Restart your computer.
If the WinsockXP Fix did not solve the problem, run the following commands in Command Prompt:
netsh winsock reset -- Restart your computer; if this did not solve the problem, reset your TCP/IP settings:
netsh int ip reset reset.txt -- Restart your computer.

Just to let you know, problem resolved. Bought a new Linksky router and DSL is again up an running. So after 4 years apparently the original router took a dive.

Thanks for your response:
