Please suggest helpful advice on bootup problem.
Gateway 700 PC with Promise Ultra66 Version 1.12 Bios.
After changing from Win98 0S FAT32 to WinXP OS NTFS the system will not boot up and returns the error messages: Operating system not found and Bios not loaded.
Win XP is the OS of choice now and if the Bios is to be updated and flashed what is the name of the upgrade, where obtained etc...... or maybe the Ultra66 is ok and is it easily flashed or how is it replenished?
I take it the Bios has been damaged in some way or maybe it is just unable to recognise the later model WIN XP OS? I assume it is damaged because it cannot now recognise and boot up any HDD with a Win 98 installed OS.
Kindly advise.

Thanks,
basil230.
