Hi

I played cod2 on this pc for like 4 years. Always had perfect fps and loadtimes. Since some
months it takes about 10 min to load multiplayer and about 8 minutes to load a map. Also in game im often experiencing hard fps drops from 200 down to 40. Which makes the game allmost unplayable. I used to have 250 steady fps.

I've tried this:

- reinstalled cod2
- defrag
- virus + spyware scan
- cleaned reg
- cleaned c drive
- updated all drivers, including videocard
- shut down some start up programs.
- tried different VGA settings.

nothing works

my specs:
weird thing is it says I have 2 CPU's, when I only have 1 :)

Grafics card: Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT
System Model: Dell DXP051
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A00
Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.20GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1534MB RAM
Page File: 991MB used, 5389MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode

Hope you guys can help!

Hi,

Welcome to GeeksToGo :)

Please can you get the following report for me. I know you posted some specs but I just want to double check some areas.

Please can you download and install Everest from HERE
Once its installed (leave all of the options just keep pressing next) double click on the shortcut.
Then once its running:
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post

Don't include anything under the line "DEBUG- PCI"

The attached picture can be used for reference

Also in this case please expand the Sensors list and take a print screen using the PrtScn button on your keyboard

  • To attach the picutre go to Start > Programs > Accesories > Paint
  • Paste your print screen into paint.
  • Then click File > Save As and save it as a jpeg
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Then in your next reply underneath the text window you will see Choose File.
  • Click Choose File and look for the picture
  • Click Open
  • Then click Upload.

Correct.
With the sudden nature of the problem and the overall speed issue I would say you had a problem :)

I believe that your Pc may be infected. I would advise you get yourself checked out.

Click Here and follow the guide. Then start a new topic Here
If after 3 OR MORE DAYS you get no reply, read This Thread

Once complete post back to this thread if you still have the same problem.

GPU is 71 degrees

HD = 39 degrees

Ok I will work on the virus problem first. Indeed it the problems came over night. So virus and spyware is a better guess.

thanks a lot
