After great success with removing a nasty Mal-ware infection from my machine, I thought I might ask about an odd problem I'm having with my modem.

At apparently random intervals, my connection has been 'hanging' and dropping out at regular intervals. A quick check in my Modem configuration shows the following error message:

Sat May 14 17:50:18 2005 : WARNING : ATM VC Congested : Interface - aal5-0, PortId=7, Vpi=8, Vci=35

At first I thought maybe I was overloading the modem with requests somehow, but its not serving any more programs then usual. Tech support blame my phone service provider, who are in turn blaming my ISP.

If anyone know what this error means and how to overcome it, I'd be grateful.

Other pertinent information:

Modem: D-Link 302-G
OS: Win XP Home
Typical Programs: Azereus, mIRC, Internet Explorer
