strange laptop behavior after changing the RAM

After i change the RAM of my LAPTOP

from 2*PC2100 256M -> PC3200 512M RAM

it behave weired while it start up.


I need to press several times on the power up button to successfully startup and go into windows. Else, the LAPTOP didn't show any respond.

whats wrong?

maybe your memory speeds are different.
that means the processor talks to the memory in a certain speed.
try to take out your old memory and then putting ONLY the new memory in.
it might work because of the possible different speeds.
