Laptop will not connect to wireless internet

I have two Dell Inspiron 1545 laptops. Both use Windows Vista and a wireless connection. Neither one of them will connect to the internet. We also have a desktop computer that has no problems connecting.
When running an IPconfig, it says that the media is disconnected. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless driver. Nothing seems to work.
