Windows XP password?

Okay so I have a post under windows vista and someone told me to boot my computer with my old windows xp cd and try to restore my computer with that cd. Well I tried that and it asked me for my windows xp password. But I know for a fact that I don't and never did have a password. Anyone know if there is a factory password?
