Desktop Icon Removal

Hi,

I have an icon on my desktop that I find it impossible to remove. It cannot be deleted through right clicking or sending it to the recycle bin. It doesn't show up on C:\Program Files\Desktop. It is a Microsoft Connection Manager Program that connected me to my old dial-up internet service that I no longer need. I am really puzzled, is there anyone out there?
