When I click on the icon for Windows Defender in Control Panel it says file not found. Also in the start panel for all programs, when I click on it, it says path not found. But in the spyware forum, the moderator helped me get rid of the spyware that I had, and they said the program is running. If it is running, how can I tell? Can I still run Spyware guard real time protection program if it is running? The moderator on that forum suggested I post questions about this here. Here is the link to the forum:

Open Windows Explorer.
Navigate to C:\Program Files
Is Windows Defender folder present there?

Also...
Go Start>All Programs>Windows Defender
Right click on Windows Defender, click Properties
In Target field, you should see:
"%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MsAsCui.exe"
Is it what you have?

I have no idea, if it's gonna work, but I'm attaching a whole WD folder from my Vista.
Unzip it and put it into Program Files folder.

Attached Files

It worked! I was able to open up windows defender and turn it on.
Do you know if having Windows defender as well as Spyware Guard and Spyware Blaster would cause a conflict? Should I delete one of the other programs?

Cool :)
I'd run just one antispyware program.
I don't run any in real time, but if it was my choice, I'd go for SG.

So you would recommend turning off real time protection for windows defender and leaving on for SG?
Thanks for the help.

I'm not a big fan of Windows Defender, so, yes.
