boots to desktop nothing else, my G\F upon my advice installed and ran malware bytes programme and got 1 error so deleted it now her laptop boots up to the desktop and no icons arrive on screen, I can get a cmd prompt.
last known config. doesn't help
boot to safe mode doesn't get to the desktop.
how do i get to system restore even though she says she as never used this.

this is all being blamed on me for telling her to get malware bytes.

hope someone can help.
