windows explore is not working on my hp pavilion laptop, it opens a blank screen and the little circle just spins but it will never open documents or control panel. Yhis has just started happening, I have norton on my machine and the scans have all come up negative for virus

Are you on a network? If so, do you have any mapped network drives? If so, have you double checked your DNS server settings?

yes I tried system restore and the same thing happens (ran the restore in safemode, everything is fine when in safemode). I am on a wiresless network in my home and we have had various problems with all but one computer in the home sharing this network.
