Hey, guys.

I recently was asked by my aunt to reformat her computer, so I brought it home thinking it would be an easy task (as it has been the last 4 or 5 times I've done it).

The formatting and installation (WinXP) went on without a problem, but once I booted up the computer afterward, it couldn't connect to the internet. I've tried everything I could think of, to no avail.

I'm really at a loss here; can you help?

Yes, I've reinstalled the drivers (Network card is a D-Link DFE-530TX, driver v.10), but I can't find it in device manager.

Make/model is a Compaq Presario 4410CA Desktop. The connection is wired.

So your questions got me thinking, dsenette. It turns out I made a stupidly simple mistake when I was installing the card: I neglected to remove it while I was installing the drivers. Just did so and the computer recognized it right away.

Thanks for the inspiration. =)
