problem with my dvd ram (not working)

i have fujitsu lifebook with window vista service pack 1. A week ago my computer was fully functioning well, but now i have a problems with my dvd ram drive E:. sometimes drive E: is not seen in computer and if it seen than it does not work . if i click drive E: in computer than nothing will seen and sometimes cursor freeze .if i try to play dvd with my player than the dvd player does not respond. when i check device manager than its shows like this-
DVD/CD-ROM drives
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ870BJ
In disk management it shows - DVD/CD-ROM DRIVE(E:) 0
No media
i have tried system restore,registry deleting process but no any help.
I think i got this problems after installing vista service pack 2. so, i again uninstall the service pack 2, but didn't work.
hoping solutions from you good experts. thanks in advance.
