:) Why yes, I am an idiot.

I was in the process of installing a DVD writer and Roxio burning software, when I was told I didn't have enough memory. I began deleting unused applications that had come with my HP Mini 1000 to accommodate Roxio. And yes, I began to delete IDT Audio before I realized it was a device and not another media player - I stopped it, but not in time to prevent damage.

From what I'm reading in the forums here - this probably means I need to download the driver again, which it looks like will cost me $30 from vendor sites with programs like Driver Robot and Driver Detective. Is there any cheaper way to get around this? How can I be sure it'll fix my problem if I go that route?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Go to HP Mini 1000 drivers page and download the drivers for free.
Just click on the model number and then follow the prompts.
I hope this helps and please let us know how everything works out.
