Thanks in advance for all the replies.
I have a dell Inspiron 6000 laptop that will not load windows xp. The last time the laptop worked the battery was taken out of it to turn it off! When it starts everything seems ok, then you get the windows loading screen, it then goes to a black screen with a white mouse cursor.
I have tried to start in safe mode and also last know config, but come up with the same result.
Dell did not send a Windows CD with the laptop and I do not have a backup disk. What can I do to fix this problem?

Still having problems! I used the search option and could not find a resolution to my problem.
