It did, but it looks like the same thing I uninstalled, still that yellow light bulb.

I'm going to do it one more time, see if it works

That usually means the drive is having problems and will need to be replaced.
The other option is to borrow a known working dvd\cdrom drive and connect it in place of the bad one and see if it works. If it does then you know it is a bad drive.

So I guess, we can't go any further huh

Well there is one available but I'm sure you don't want to take it out of your system? :)
We can wait till this problem is corrected to continue if oyu want. A new dvd\cdrw drive will cost about 30 dollars from most online places like NewEgg and Tigerdirect
I can supply links to them if you would like. :)

The drive is most likely bad and will need to be replaced.

There is one more thing that can be attempted though.
All DVD/CD drives do not use drivers to make them work. They work off of the standard MS drivers. That is why we asked you to un-install and let the OS see it again. That did not work.

What you can try is to right click on the CD/DVD drive and "scan for hardware" change or "update driver". This might find a firmware driver.

NOTE: I actually do not think this will work, but anything is worth a try.

Rshaffer61..Would CDgone be an option to try?

I don't think so but it is worth a try.

Download, and run Restore Missing CD Drive patch
Double click on cdgone.zip to unzip it.
Right click on cdgone.reg, click Merge.
Accept registry merge.
Restart computer.

To piggy back on what I just mentioned in the above post, when I clicked on the Restore Missing CD Drive patch it took me to the download page and the Ultimate Zip program opens up, should that be right ???

It should be asking if you want to use the program to unzip the file. If so then yes that is right. Make sure to unzip it to the Desktop so you can find it. Then follow the rest of the instructions from there.

OK, in the meantime,

Can you tell me how to uninstall:

UltimateZip Mirror1 and Mirror2 and UltimateZip program, this is what I got trying to delete it from the "C" drive.

Error Deleting File or Folder

Cannot delete uzqkst.exe: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
