hi

i am having problems with popups such as slashsearch, oldgames.cc and others i have deleted popuper.exe and intmon.exe here is the hijackthis log, any help would be appreciated.

Good to hear. The startup for a virus scared me, but it looks it was just a leftover.

Can you do a Find Files for ddrive.js

Rename it to ddrive.txt and post the content

Better fix this while we investigate it:

i tryed installing SP2 before and it destroyed my machine i had to do a system restore and then install the internet again...

Rightclick the file and choose rename, but I have trouble reading the screenshot you posted. Are there copies in a HP folder?

In that case better post the content before you rename it.

Installing SP2 is not recommended when you are infected. You are not anymore now, so it should work out fine. If it makes you feel more comfortable, do it in steps and upgrade to SP1 first.

i rightclicked, renamed the second and third to ddrive.txt and when i pressed return this pops up...



every one i click to open except the first one, contains a virus!

how do i post the content of it? i go to open it and it wont let me because access is denied! sorry if i am a nuisence!

You said there is one you can rename. The first one?

Another (less desirable way) is to turn off AVG 's resident protection for the time it atkes to rename the file. ONLY do this when disconnected form the internet and be very carefull not to doubleclick the suspected virus.
