Hotmail not opening

For the past few days, I've tried numerous times to access my hotmail account on my Vista laptop. I keep getting the same error message about IE not being able to display the webpage. I have no problem getting on hotmail using the desktop. I've checked to see if it's a blocked site, checked the firewall, made sure the address was correct, and I've run the IE diagnostic, etc. There is nothing obvious blocking the site. Could someone please give me steps to take in order to check if something else is blocking the site, that I'm just not thinking of? I'm not a computer novice, but I am at a complete loss as to what else to check.
