windows is telling me to re install file. I removed the drive and put it in another computer as slave D drive then I copied the system32 hal.dll file from the working C drive and pasted it to the windows system32 folder in the bad D drive. It asked to overwrite and I said yes. Then replaced C drive in original computer and it still says that windows couldn't start because windows root system32 hal.dll is missing or corrupt please re-install file.

If I put this drive back in as slave in other computer how can I take all my stuff off it and place it on the master C drive so I can then get a new drive for the other computer and start fresh?
