Just as a suggestion. Go into the Device Manager and right click on that PCI Device
Then click on Uninstall
Reboot the system and see if the system will now load it correctly.
Sometimes it is just the fact that entry needs to be uninstalled for the system to correct it on it's own.

Download Autoruns from the link in my signature below:
1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.
2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".
3: Click on the "Everything" tab
4: Remove any entries that mention "File Not Found" by right-clicking the entry and select Delete.
5: Go to File then to Export As.
6: Save AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
7: Attach to your next reply.

Since you have reloaded how did you enter a key then?
If no key has been entered to validate and activate there is a problem now.

Ok now we have a problem.
If the friend gave you a key code and that key is on another system then what you have is a illegal installation of XP.
At this point there is no way to get your original code back since you have formatted the system and installed using a illegally obtained key code.
Is the key code from magic jellybean different then the one you installed?
If so then you most likely have your original code.

Just some more reading as I search for an answer to the function keys.

Description of Advent 4211 and support
The Tech Guys Support for the Advent

It tells what the function keys are, but I haven't found anything that will install them yet.

Verify the key codes.
I have to tell you that we need to know if the Key code installed is different then the key code magic jellybean shows.

I have found some manuals on this unit.
At the top under "others", hotkey is on the recovery partition. Probably wont do us any good if laura91 formatted the entire drive including the recovery partition.
At the bottom under "global/America", clicking on english gives the installation/setup.
It references an application Cd in chapter 3. Laura91, do you have this CD?. It is the drivers CD.

Wait let's take a look at something.
Go to Start and then to Run
Type in compmgmt.msc and click Enter
On left side click on Disk Manangement
Now take another screenshot and include it in your next reply. I'm just interested to see something.

You have deleted the recovery partition so the only way at this point to make you legal is to
Contact the manufacturer and purchase a recovery cd
Purchase a new XP with your own reg key.

As far as the pics you are trying to attach the one problem is you are saving them as BMP files instead of JPEG files
The latter file type is more compressed so the file size is smaller.
