Updates not "Sticking"

When I update a program and go through all the step and it says it updated successfully, restart the computer..then the update appears again. Namely Quicktime and Blackberry Desktop Manger for now.
I have had trouble updating programs for ever it seems, I was getting ODB errors that I seem to have fixed but now the updates aren't sticking or so it seems.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Note: The actual updates are sticking, but the notices keep popping up saying I haven't updated when I have and the programs are the updated versions.
