cant access shared folders on my win7 from my linux laptop

I having problems with this. I have share my folder on my win7 machine and I can access from other windows machines. but when i try to access from my ubuntu 9.04. I get a pop up window asking me for password and no matter what i put there, it does not work. I even tried removing the password from the Windows 7 machine. The folder I shared is also a drive I had mapped. When i click cancel, it says unable to mount location. Any advice???
When I had windows xp, all i did was (on the linux machine) click computer, network, windows network, "my workgroup name" then i saw the mapped folder

to anyone that wants to know.. i found the solution. I was using windows 7 home, and when i switched to windows 7 Professional, everything worked perfectly.
