Go to Start then to Run
Type in compmgmt.msc and click Enter
On left side click on Disk Management
On right side you will see you hard drive.
Now I need you to take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply. Do the following to take a screenshot while the above is open and showing on your desktop.

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop

Attach it to your next reply

Lord theres your problem
You have 4 partitions on your drive.
the drive highlighted is it usable or not?
I'm not sure what Dell advised you to do but I'm sure the way they had you installed is why the drive is partitioned the way it is.
Do you have the original recovery cd's from them?

OK the problem is the way they had you setup the system.
I take it you don't have a XP that is not the recovery disks?
We can try to delete that 120 gig partition and stretch out the existing partition to use it all but that may mess with the existing installation.
It would be alot better to set it up from the beginning to be honest with you.

Any chance you have a full retail version of the OS that is installed on your laptop?
We could format it and take out all the partitions and start all over or you could purchase the same OS that is installed and do everything from scratch. Since you have the drivers disk that would make it easy to load all the drivers either way.
