I'm guessing this is hardware related but could easily be wrong.

i use a laptop with 2 different external monitors, one in one office, another in a second office. it was working fine for several months until...

i sometimes use the same monitor with a PC. if i plug the external monitor back into the PC i have problems. hard to describe, best to say it's as if the visual display (desktop) is twice as big as the actual monitor screen. if i move the mouse to the edges then the display moves to accommodate, so fortunately i can still get to 'Start' etc.

hope this is a common problem with an easy fix because i'm not convinced that i've explained things clearly.

using WXP on both laptop ad desktop. both external monitors set to 1680 x 1050.
