Alright, I got it working (finally) Anyway, would it require Rack Servers to have multiple CoD servers running at once?

NO. The reason only one server is showing up on the internet list is because the first server uses 28960 port then the next would use 28961 and so on.. You need to go into your router and extend the port for cod to more than 28960. Do it to 28965 for example in your port forwarding so you can have more servers.

Anyway you need a serious connection for that many game servers up. A t1 couldnt even do 5 servers lmao..
A t1 would do 16players well as long as noone else was using the line for anything. It would be pretty much a sweet server. Pushing a 20 man server is possible for a T1 but I would not do it to cut down the lag. 16 players would cut down the lag.

Another way to run servers is by a shortcut to cod and then right clicking it then under the target line add your command line there to run the server. You would put hostname, maxplayers, ip, port, dedicated whatever, and any other things you might need or want to run with the PROPER command that is.. I was only giving examples. Using this method you can specify a custom port number if you wanted.

Another way is to use a .bat or batch file.

ERROR: SV_SetConfigstring: bad index -1 I dont know exactly what is causing this because I have never seen it but It sounds like a config file is messed up somehow I dont know what you did.

Integrated video cards are not for gaming anyway they mean actual dedicated video cards with 32mb would be able to run it more than likely. SIS makes the worst integrated graphics I have seen. Thats why it doesnt work its not good enough.

You dont necessarily have to have a dedicated machine. Your main computer I suppose is faster correct?? If so you can serve and game on the same machine just fine if the clients were not over lets say 8 people and that depends on your computers speed aswell. Try that on your Main Faster machine.

Ok, I'm very new to this forums but i have tried making a server for ages. I used to be able to make one, but then i couldn't anymore I have no clue. So i started looking for website and so i found this one. I am not good with computers so can you explain things in a way I can understand this.

Right now I understand my server must be on pure and dedicated to internet, but it wont work. I disabled my firewall....

Now I have no clue on what to do with my router.. ( Lynkies Broadband Router)

And what to do with the saving shortcut thingy???

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whistling:

What you have to do is go "into" your router and open up ports 28960-28961
To get into your router, go to this website, http://www.portforwa...routerindex.htm and click the router listed that you have. After you have chosen your router, choose the game/program that your wanting to host at your home. Next follow the instructions given to you on how to open the ports 28960-28961.

you DO NOT have to use the shortcut way. That is 1 of 3 ways to get a server to run.

The EASIEST way is to go into the game itself and set the settings like hostname, pure, maxrate, maxping, internet to dedicated and so on then all you do is start server.. It should then goto your desktop with a Console that you need to leave minimized then you can go back into the game once again and find your server.

I have said this atleast a dozen times throughout the thread. This thread is severly long lol.

You need to find your LAN IP which is an IP given by your router.

GO into my network places, View network connections then double click local area connection then finally support tab..

**If you guys keep on having problems you can even set a static ip by going to properties then tcp/ip.**

Every router is different so You might have to set that new (static IP) someplace within your router. Some routers may not need to. I dont know how each router is so I cant help you their. This is just a general thread about opening your server. I dont know all the technical specs of every single router.

If you cannot get it to work while reading the whole thread then I dont know what to tell you except Rent a Hosted server or try a new router.

If its general questions I can try to help out when possible but the same questions are being asked after they cannot get the server to work. I dont know what you did wrong.

Some routers wont allow you to open a server no matter what you try and how long you spend on it.

Usually the wireless routers give you problems more than others.

If you are trying to get into your router settings you need to locate your routers manual if you have one or search on google for the right ip address to enter for your router config page to come up.

Example of some ip's of some routers to get into the router config page.
Remember all you do is type that ip directly into the web browser to get to your router config page.

192.168.1.1 <------- usually linksys

192.168.0.1 <------- usually D-Link routers

It will be something like that. :whistling:

Everything you showed me looks alright. Try running the server a different way by not using the target line shortcut. Go into the game and set all the settings for your server in there. Then goto start server in THE GAME. Now It should goto your desktop with the console if you set everything up right mainly putting dedicated to internet. After that try connecting to the server. You do realize that setting DMZ should be for last resort as it bypasses the routers built in firewall and allows all network traffic to that paticular ip. It should work since you put it to DMZ in the router. All of the posts I replied should have enough information to figure out what you didnt do right. I cannot figure this out on my own because this is basically a guideline of "HOW TO" correctly open a server from home. Its impossible for me to tell you exactly what you did wrong or why its not working if you followed all of the instructions. Usually If the person cannot get it to work and they have all the server settings set right like dedicated internet and the ports right, its because of A. THE ROUTER ITSELF, B. The Lan Ip is set wrong or the IP For your server C. Try making a STATIC IP for the server machine, sometimes this will solve your problem.

Make sure you have all of the ports set in the router, not just 28960...
TCP Ports:28960
UDP Ports:20500,20510,28960

I did all the port stuff, it is a static IP, but I fixed a few things...

Now the server can be seen on Local but not on the internet

Any suggestions? Btw Ive read about 15 out of the 21 pages of this topic, lol

If you are using a router and set up a static ip which is a manual IP address in network connections make sure that ip address is the exact same as the one in your routers config page where you set the port forwarding. If port forwarding does not work try DMZ host and make sure the DMZ host IP address is exactly the same as your static ip you manually set in your network connection options.

Either way will work. One or the other ways should work if it doesnt your ports are incorrect or you have a wireless router that doesnt like to host games. If you have a wireless router that is possibly the problem.

I still dont know if you have wireless router or wired router.

Hello, i recently set up a server and every time i logged off of it, it disconnected from internet list. So then i kept making more of them, and now they're shutting themselves down. Take a look for yourself. Scroll down till u see "CL_SHUTDOWN" If any one has a solution please responde i would greatly appreciate it.

Please Help. Oh, and by the way. Some people say "trying deleting your mods" so i did and nothing changed. i wanted to know if these were mods. cgame_mp_x86.dll.
or Pakuo01.pk1.

Hmmm strange.. i opened "UO" folder and it said "Games_MP" so i opened that document and it said this..

0:00 ------------------------------------------------------------
0:00 InitGame: \g_gametype\tdm\gamename\CoD:United Offensive\mapname\mp_carentan\protocol\21\shortversion\1.41\sv_allowAnonymous\0\sv_floodProtect\1\sv_hostname\^5=||^1S.^4o.^1A.^5||= Je$u$ \sv_maxclients\10\sv_maxPing\250\sv_maxRate\25000\sv_minPing\0\sv_privateClients\0\sv_punkbuster\0\sv_pure\1
26:04 ShutdownGame: 26:04 ------------------------------------------------------------

and i opened "console_mp" and the document was blank. nothing was in it.
